Grease Traps and Food Catchers – Are They the Same Thing?

BIOTRAPS® – OUR RANGE OF GREASE TRAPS

Traditional grease traps are notoriously problematic and require expensive maintenance. High running costs, bad odours, frequent blockages and intrusive waste disposal are common place.

How Does it Work?

As waste water enters the BIOTRAP , the internal stainless steel baffles reduce the flow allowing the water to cool quickly. FOG (fats, oils and grease) then rises to the surface while food particles sink to the bottom. Our time proven bacterial additive (not enzymatic) is automatically dosed into the unit each evening via a timed dosing pump. The micro- organisms in FAT ATTACK break down FOG and digest all solid waste on contact which keeps BIOTRAPS, as well as drains and pipes free flowing and functioning like new. There are no moving parts, filters or bags to replace. BIOTRAPS requires no daily maintenance by staff, consumes zero electricity and can be retrofitted in almost any kitchen (above or below ground) With a 25+ year life expectancy and a 100% airtight design, BIOTRAPS are the most hygienic and cost effective interceptor on the market.

UNDER SINK FOOD CATCHER

Over time, waste food can accumulate in pipes and drains which in turn can cause bad odours and costly blockages. In addition, waste food that enters a grease trap will decay and affect its performance.

How Does it Work?

Our under sink food catcher is designed to restrict solid waste from entering your plumbing system, public sewers, grease traps and waste water treatment plants. Installed under pot wash or pre wash sinks, this is a simple yet highly effective means of controlling waste food in any food service establishment. Constructed throughout from 304 gauge stainless steel, the unit is plumbed on the inlet side of a grease trap interceptor. Food waste is contained within a removable basket which is emptied daily by staff. The outlet pipe is located at the base of the food catcher which ensures it never overflows and the rubber u- bend prevents bad odours from entering the kitchen. A Taylormade food catcher is supplied and installed as part of a grease trap maintenance plan. Our food catchers will keep your drains ans plumbing systems free flowing 24/7. It will prevent food waste from entering your grease interceptor and improve waste water analysis results.
